Ajith Kumar

Ajith Kumar (born May 1, 1971 in Secunderabad ) is an Indian automobile racing driver and actor .

Career in motorsport

After he had been active in motorcycle racing from 1990 to 1993 , he switched to formula racing in 2002 and competed in the Indian Formula Maruthi, which he finished in fourth place overall. In 2003 he switched to the Asian Formula BMW and was seventh overall at the end of the season. In 2004, Kumar moved to Europe and took part in the national class of the British Formula 3 Championship for half a season . With third places as the best results, he finished seventh overall at the end of the season.

After five years without professional motorsport, Kumar returned in 2010 and competed in Formula 2 . From the fourth race weekend onwards, Kumar, who had not scored any points, no longer started.
