Academy for veterinary training

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Academy for Veterinary Training ( ATF ) is a veterinary organization in Germany. It is the training organization of the Bundestierärztekammer (BTK) for the postgraduate education and training of veterinarians and was founded in 1974. It works with the German Veterinary Medical Society , the veterinary chambers and other professional associations and organizations. It grants ATF approval for around 4,000 advanced training courses per year, which is necessary for the fulfillment of compulsory advanced training.

In 2014 the ATF had around 3,300 members. The members undertake to complete significantly more advanced training hours (40) per year than the 20 required by the veterinary associations. Members can take part in the ATF training courses for a reduced fee and also request course documents for training courses that have not been attended.

The organs of the ATF are the delegates' assembly of the BTK, the ATF board of directors, the general assembly and the advisory board. The chairman is Axel Wehrend . The general assembly takes place at least every three years. The ATF office is located at the BTK headquarters in Berlin.
