Akalla is an underground station on the Stockholm Metro . It is located in the Akalla district of the same name . The station is served by the Blå linjen of the Stockholm metro system . It is one of the less frequented stations on the underground network. On a normal working day, 5,000 commuters get on here.

The underground tracks

The station went into operation on June 5, 1977 when the Hallonbergen-Akalla metro section was inaugurated. The station has two underground tracks, which are about 20 m below the ground. The station is the terminus of line T11 of the Blå linjen. It is around fourteen kilometers to Stockholm Central Station .

The station has two entrances at either end. The northern end is designed as a combined bus station with the buses also stopping in an underground intermediate station. The two bus platforms are on the outside and in the middle is the actual access to the subway. This station is rounded off with a service counter. In addition, there is a large turning circle for taxis and private vehicles on the intermediate bus level.
