Akif Islamzade

Akif Islamzade (Akif İslamzadə) (born August 8, 1948 in Baku ) is an Azerbaijani singer. He became known for his interpretation of the folk song Sarı gelin .

biography

Islamzade was born on August 8, 1948 in Baku in the family of the mugham singer Sara Gadimova. He graduated from Azerbaijan State Economic University in 1979. In 1972, he started working as a singer in a theater . In 1976 he worked as a singer in Tofig Ahmadov State Orchestra . In 1986 his musical activities were minimized due to loss of voice. He then retired from recording full-length albums. The problem with his voice got worse and worse, affecting his ability not only to sing but also to speak.
