Akiko Itoyama

Akiko Itoyama ( Japanese 絲 山 秋 子 , Itoyama Akiko ; born November 22, 1966 in Setagaya ) is a Japanese writer.

Itoyama studied political science and economics at Waseda University and then worked as a saleswoman for a household goods trading company. In 2004 she received the Kawabata Yasunari Literature Prize for the novel Fukurokōji no otoko , the following year for Oki de matsu, after three consecutive nominations, the Akutagawa Prize .
