Andreas Vassilis Zikos ( Greek Ανδρέας Βασίλειος Ζήκος Άκης Ζήκος Akis Zikos for short ; born June 1, 1974 in Athens ) is a former Greek football player who was last active as a midfielder at AEK Athens .

Career

In 1993 Zikos began his career at Skoda Xanthi , for which he played five years and completed 114 games and scored one goal. In 1998 he moved to AEK Athens and won the Greek Cup competitions twice in 2000 and 2002. In summer 2002 he signed a contract with the French first division club AS Monaco . During his time in France he won the French Cup and reached the final of the 2003/04 UEFA Champions League against FC Porto . For Monaco, Zikos appeared 102 times and scored two goals. In 2006 Zikos returned to AEK Athens and played there for two years until he retired on April 20, 2008.

For the Greek national soccer team Zikos played 18 times, including qualifying for the 2002 World Cup in South Korea and Japan .
