Akram Zaatari

Akram Zaatari ( Arabic أكرم زعتري, DMG Akram Zaʿtarī ; * 1966 in Sidon ) is a Lebanese exhibition maker , installation and video artist . Akram Zaatari is one of the initiators of the Arab Image Foundation with Walid Raad . Founded in Beirut in 1997, it is one of the most important photo archives in the Middle East.

He has created more than 40 videos including:

  • 1997: All is Well on the Border

  • 2003: This Day
  • 2005: In this House
  • 2008: Nature Morte
  • 2008: Letter to Samir
  • 2009–2011: Twenty-Eight Nights and a Poem
  • 2012: Time Capsule

Zaatari was a participant in the São Paulo Biennale in 2006 and in dOCUMENTA in 2012 (13) . In 2013 he represented Lebanon at the Biennale di Venezia .
