Aksel Johannes Skramstad Rykkvin (born April 11, 2003 in Oslo ) is a Norwegian singer. He was a boy soprano and today sings baritone after his voice broke .

Life and singing activity

Rykkvin began singing in the Oslo Cathedral Children's Choir when he was five .

He won the Norwegian Youth Music Competition 2014/15 in the category of singers between 10 and 15 years. Two years later he won the 2016/17 competition and the title "Musician of the Year".

In March 2016 Rykkvin played the character of the boy in the science fiction opera Elysium by the Norwegian composer Rolf Wallin . In the same year he released his first album: Aksel! - Arias by Bach, Handel & Mozart .

He was nominated as Newcomer of the Year at the Spellemann Prize 2017.

In May 2018 Rykkvin sang the leading role in the children's opera Purriot og den forsvunne bronsehesten in a production by the Norwegian Opera .
