Definition of terms

In astronomy, star catalogs in which brightness measurements are printed are sometimes referred to as actinometries. Well-known actinometries are the Göttingen actinometry, created in 1904/08, which contains photographically determined apparent brightnesses for 3500 stars between 0 ° and + 20 ° declination , and the Yerkes actinometry, which for the declination range 60 ° to 75 ° contains the photographically determined apparent brightnesses of Lists 2354 stars up to size 8.m25. There are also brightness catalogs that do not have this designation.
