Action forum health information system

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Aktionforum Gesundheitsinformationssystem (afgis) eV, founded in 2003 and based in Hanover, is an amalgamation of associations, companies and individuals to promote the quality of health information on the Internet .

The quality logo, awarded by the association since 2005, is used to identify high quality health information offers on the Internet. It assumes the successful completion of a test procedure and the implementation of so-called transparency criteria by the provider. Background information about positively tested providers can be called up in a provider-independent database by clicking on the afgis logo on the provider page. One of the transparency criteria is transparency about

  • the providers
  • Goal, purpose and addressed target group (s) of the information
  • the authors and the data sources of the information
  • the timeliness of the data
  • Opportunity for feedback from users
  • Quality assurance procedures
  • Separation of advertising and editorial content
  • Funding and sponsors
  • Cooperations and networking
  • Use of data and data protection

The seal has been awarded 39 times. Members are various public corporations (such as the Lower Saxony Medical Association ), research institutes (such as the Robert Koch Institute ), health insurance companies (such as Barmer GEK and Techniker Krankenkasse ), self-help organizations (e.g. the German Rheuma League ), Onmeda and other companies and associations related to medicine.
