Ala is a place and a former municipality in northern Portugal .
history
Ala was under the order of Christ . In 1705 the place had 50 households.
Ala remained an independent municipality until it was dissolved in 2013 and merged with Vilarinho do Monte to form a new municipality.

Ala was the seat of a parish of the same name ( Freguesia ) in the district ( concelho ) of Macedo de Cavaleiros in the Bragança district . The community had 420 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).

In the course of the community forum on September 29, 2013 , the communities of Ala and Vilarinho do Monte were merged to form the new community União das Freguesias de Ala e Vilarinho do Monte . Ala is the seat of this newly formed community.
