Alabama State Route 46 is a highway in the US state of Alabama that runs in an east-west direction.

The highway begins on US Highway 78 in Heflin and ends on the Georgia border east of Ranburne and becomes Georgia State Route 166 . A few miles beyond Heflin, the road meets Interstate 20 . The two-lane State Route serves as a link between Heflin and places in western Georgia such as Bowdon and Carrollton .

From 1926 to 1934 the road was called US Highway 78S and today's US 78 was called US Highway 78N.
