Ali Lutfi
Ali Lutfi Mahmud (also Aly Lotfy Mahmoud ; Arabic على لطفي محمود; * October 6, 1935 ; † May 27, 2018 in Cairo ) was an Egyptian economist , politician and former Prime Minister .
Lutfi holds a degree in economics from Ain Shams University in Cairo. After obtaining his doctorate (Lausanne 1963) and his habilitation , he worked as a university lecturer before he was Minister of Finance for several years.
On September 4, 1985, Lutfi was appointed Prime Minister to succeed Kamal Hasan Ali . Since he did not succeed in stabilizing the country's economy, he was replaced by Atif Sidqi on November 10, 1986 .
