Kamal Hasan Ali
Kamal Hasan Ali , also Kamal Hassan Aly ( Arabic كمال حسن علي) (Born September 18, 1921 in Cairo ; † March 27, 1993 ) was an Egyptian general , politician and prime minister .
Life
Military career
Ali embarked on a military career and took part in the Palestine War as early as 1948 and became a war hero of Egypt during the Yom Kippur War in October 1973.
In 1975 he was first appointed head of the secret service . In this position he already supported President Anwar al-Sadat in his peace talks with Israel from 1977 to 1979. In particular, he was sent to Jerusalem by President Sadat in 1977 as a negotiator .
Political career
From 1978 he became Minister for Defense and Arms Production in Mustafa Chalil's cabinet . He held this office until 1980. He was then Foreign Minister from 1980 to 1985 .
On July 17, 1984, he was appointed Prime Minister to succeed Fuad Mohieddin . As such, he was in office until his replacement by Ali Lutfi on September 4, 1985.
After retiring from the government in 1986, he was Chairman of the Board ( Chairman ) of the Egyptian Gulf Bank ( Egyptian Gulf Bank ).
