Alain Homberger

Alain Homberger (born September 5, 1956 in Zurich ; resident in Zurich) is a Swiss entrepreneur and politician (FDP) .

Life

Alain Homberger is a qualified Agricultural economist from ETH Zurich . After completing his studies, he worked as deputy until 1992. Head of department and head of expertise at the Foundation for Research and Consulting at the Business Administration Institute of ETH Zurich (BWI) . Since 1993 he has been an independent management consultant. Among other things, he is a member of the Board of Directors of Sefar Holding in Thal and Chairman of the Board of Directors and Managing Director of Viscosistadt AG in Emmen. As a sideline, he ran the family farm “Hof Alpbach” in Wattwil from 1988 to 2008 . For managing the 30 hectare organic farm, he has been awarded various national and international prizes for animal welfare .

Alain Homberger is widowed and has two children.

Alain Homberger was St. Gallen Cantonal Councilor for the (FDP) for eight years from 1996 to 2004 . During this time he was parliamentary group spokesman for the finance commission and head of the FDP delegation of the constitutional commission. From 1993 to 1999 he was president of the Wattwil school community. Since 2014 he has been a local councilor (Säckelmeister) in Freienbach in the canton of Schwyz . The employer is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Schwyz Pension Fund .
