Alain Pâris

Alain Pâris (born November 22, 1947 in Paris ) is a French conductor and musicologist.

life and work

Alain Pâris studied conducting at the Ecole Normale de Musique under Pierre Dervaux in Paris in the 1960s . At Louis Fourestier in Nice he perfected his skills and abilities as a conductor. In 1968 he won first prize at the Concurs international de Besançon.

Subsequently he worked as a freelance conductor with various orchestras. In 1980 he founded the Ensemble à Vent de Paris . In 1983 he became first conductor at the Strasbourg Opéra du Rhin . From 1987 he worked again as a freelance conductor. From 1986 to 1989 he was professor of orchestral conducting at the Strasbourg Conservatory.

Pâris has written, among other things, the music interpreter lexicon Classical music in the 20th century, instrumentalists, singers, conductors, orchestras, choirs (German edition of the original French-language work).
