The Alameda da Encarnação is a street in the northeast of the municipality of Olivais in the Portuguese capital, Lisbon . It leads from Avenida de Berlim in a north-westerly direction to Rua dos Lojistas .
history
The Alameda da Encarnação forms the central axis of the symmetrical, butterfly-shaped street network of the Encarnação district , which was built between 1940 and 1943 according to plans by the architect Paulino Montez in the tradition of European garden cities . It was given its name on March 15, 1950 by decree of the Câmara Municipal of Lisbon.
Shortly after it begins, the street opens into a two-axle street with a wide green area in the middle. It leads to a park and comes to an end with the Igreja de Santo Eugénio .
