Alan Brown (born August 12, 1970 ) is a Scottish politician of the Scottish National Party (SNP).

Life

Brown was born in 1970 and lived in the area his entire life. After finishing elementary school, he attended Loudoun Academy in Galston . Brown then studied civil engineering at the University of Glasgow . In the following 21 years he was involved in numerous private and public construction projects, some in a leading position. Brown is married and has a father of two. He is a supporter of FC Kilmarnock .

Political career

In 2007 Brown was elected to the East Ayrshire Regional Council for the SNP . There he is chairman of the planning committee and oversees various development projects in the region. In the UK general election in 2015 , Brown ran for the first time to national elections. The SNP set him up in his home constituency of Kilmarnock and Loudoun , whose mandate was held by Labor politician Cathy Jamieson . With the massive gains in votes by the SNP in these elections, Hendry won the mandate with a 55.7% share of the vote and subsequently moved into the British House of Commons for the first time . In the early general election in 2017 , Brown maintained his mandate despite losing votes.
