Alan Cooke

Alan Cooke (born March 23, 1966 ) is an English table tennis player . At the age of 40, Cooke, who retired from active sport in 1998, is still number one in the English rankings. He is currently playing in Switzerland for CTT Meyrin (AGTT) in the National League A.

At the senior world championships in table tennis (May 15-20, 2006 in Bremen), in which he was entitled to participate for the first time, he was individual world champion in the senior 40 class. After his surprisingly clear 3-0 success (12:10 , 11: 7, 11: 7) in the semifinals over the defending champion of the 40th class, Mikael Appelgren (Sweden), he was also just 3-2 (11: 4, 9:11, 13:11, 7th in the final) : 11, 11: 8) against Peter Aranyosi (Hungary).
