Alan Somers
Alan Brounell Somers (born July 30, 1941 in Indianapolis , Indiana , USA ) is a former American swimmer.
In 1960 he swam a world record with the US 4 × 200 m freestyle relay
Freestyle swimmer Somers swam for the United States in the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome . He finished seventh in the 1,500 m freestyle and fifth in the 400 m freestyle.
Alan Somers swam for Indiana University under coach James Counsilman in the early 1960s .
