Alaska Aviation Museum

The Alaska Aviation Museum (formerly the Alaska Aviation Heritage Museum ) at Lake Hood Seaplane Base in Anchorage , Alaska has been maintaining the aviation heritage of Alaska since 1988. Historic aircraft, artifacts and memorabilia are designed to spark public interest in aviation and its history.

The museum presents over 30 aircraft, a hangar for restoration, flight simulators, two theaters and a Hall of Fame . It demonstrates the evolution of aviation in Alaska, including typical bush flying and army base during World War II on Adak Island .
