Albanian American Civic League

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Albanian American Civic League (AACL, Albanian: Lidhja Qytetare Shqiptaro-Amerikane ) is the only Albanian-American lobby group in Washington that represents the concerns and interests of Albanian immigrants in the United States and the Balkans.

The association was founded in January 1989 by former Congressman Joseph J. DioGuardi and a group of Albanian Americans. This is also their president. Since then she has worked to influence American foreign policy in the Balkans. A major goal was achieved with Kosovo's declaration of independence in 2008.
