Alberich Bergh (* 1677 in Merken ; † August 26, 1736 in Marienstatt ) was a German Roman Catholic clergyman and the 41st abbot of Marienstatt Abbey . His abbatiat went from 1720 to 1735.

Live and act

At the age of twenty-three, Bergh made his profession in the Abbey of Marienstatt in 1700 . Four years later, on September 20, 1704 he was appointed deacon consecrated on September 19, 1705 to the priest . It is documented that from October 15, 1711 he was in charge of the parishes of the County of Sayn . In 1714 he became Granar.

On April 28, 1720 Alberich was elected the 41st abbot of Marienstatt and consecrated on June 2, 1720 by the auxiliary bishop of Cologne, Johann Werner de Veyder. In 1732 he prevailed against the Count of Sayn before the Reich Chamber Court: the parish of Kroppach was assured of free religious practice . During his tenure, the bridge over the Nister was renewed. In addition, the monastery building was laid down and a new baroque building was erected. But he shouldn't see the completion again.

He assisted in the consecration of Abbot Engelbert Schmits from Heisterbach (July 4, 1728).

He resigned on May 10, 1735, and died in Marienstatt on August 26, 1736.
