Albert Edelmann
Albert Edelmann (born July 18, 1886 in Lichtensteig ; † September 24, 1963 in Wattwil ) was a Swiss teacher, painter (autodidact) and promoter of local folk and cultural assets. He was the son of the teacher Johann Jakob Edelmann and founded the Ackerhus local history museum in Ebnat-Kappel in 1952 .
Albert Edelmann attended the Mariaberg teacher training college in Rorschach and taught at the Dicken comprehensive school in Ebnat from 1906 until his retirement in 1952 . He endeavored to cultivate rural culture, to re-open old folk songs and rediscover the forgotten Toggenburg neck zither , Toggenburg house organ and Toggenburg peasant painting .
