Albert Henz

Albert Henz (* 1954 in Lambrecht (Palatinate) ) is a German Protestant theologian . From 2010 to 2018 he was theological vice-president in the regional church office of the Evangelical Church of Westphalia .

Life

Albert Henz studied from 1973 to 1978 theology in Bielefeld and Marburg . He spent his vicar time in Iserlohn and was also a prison chaplain in the Hagen prison. From 1980 to 1988 he worked in the Iserlohn Evangelical Church. In 1988 he became pastor of the church in Iserlohn. From 1992 to 2000 Albert Henz was theological director of the Westphalian deaconess institution Sarepta in Bethel. From 2000 to 2009 he was superintendent for the Iserlohn church district. In 2009 he was elected by the regional synod of the Evangelical Church of Westphalia as theological vice-president in the regional church office based in Bielefeld, and took office in 2010. He left office in June 2018. As theological vice-president he is a member of the college of the regional church office, of the church leadership of the Evangelical Church of Westphalia and representative of the president of the regional church. The elected successor as theological vice-president is Ulf Schlueter .
