Albert kauflein

Albert Kauflein (* 1960 in Karlsruhe ) is a German Catholic theologian , author and politician ( CDU ). From 2006 to 2017 he was a member of the City Council of Karlsruhe. He has been the mayor of Karlsruhe since 2018 .

Life

Käuflein studied after graduating from the Humboldt-Gymnasium Karlsruhe at the Universities of Freiburg and Mainz philosophy and Catholic theology . After completing his studies with a diploma , he was a research assistant at the University of Mainz from 1989 to 1994 , where he received his doctorate in 1994 with an investigation into the justification of standards . In addition, he completed a journalistic training for theologians. From 1994 to 2017 he was head of the Roncalli Forum in Karlsruhe, an institution of the educational center of the Archdiocese of Freiburg . In addition, from 1987 to 2017 he was one of the representatives of the Archdiocese of Freiburg for private radio.

Kauflein was a member of the Karlsruhe city council from 2006 to 2017. Since 2018 he has been mayor of the city of Karlsruhe and is responsible for the areas of culture, public safety and order, personnel and organization, statistics and elections, citizen participation, urban development, information technology and digitization.

He is the author and publisher of several specialist academic books, as well as the author of numerous journalistic articles, including for the Konradsblatt , Die Tagespost and the New Order .
