Albert Maringer

Albert Theo Maringer (* 1945 in Reinbek ) is a German-Canadian manager and honorary professor at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena .

Life

From 1961 Maringer initially worked in assembly at Siemens . In 1966 he began studying electrical engineering , which he completed as a graduate engineer . Maringer holds a total of over 100 patents. In 1987 he completed a degree in business administration and economics, which in 1993 was awarded a doctorate to become a Dr. rer. pole. followed. For 46 years he worked in various positions for the Siemens group. Most recently, from 2000 to 2006, he was CEO of Siemens Canada Ltd. Since June 2007 he has been with Maringer Consulting Alberta Ltd. self-employed in management consulting .

In addition, Maringer has been an honorary professor at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena since 2005 , where he has held a teaching position since 1994. From 2001 to 2004 Maringer was President of the German-Canadian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (a chamber of commerce abroad ).

Honors

Albert Maringer was awarded the Cross of Merit with Ribbon on April 23, 2014 for his special merits earned on “People and State” and presented in Toronto . In his laudation, Walter Stechel , the German Consul General in Canada, named three reasons for the award: The honor of the successful manager, the work as a scientist and Maringer's extensive voluntary activities as a citizen .
