Albert Martin

Albert Martin (* 1949 in Stuttgart ) is a German economist and, until he retired in 2015, was a professor of business administration, especially medium- sized business economics, at the Leuphana University of Lüneburg .

Life

Albert Martin studied business administration at the University of Mannheim . In 1974 he completed his studies with a degree in business administration. He then worked as a research assistant at the chair for general business administration, human resources and ergonomics at the University of Mannheim. In 1979 he did his doctorate at the University of Paderborn with the thesis The operational integration of foreign young people . From 1980 to 1987 he was a university assistant or university lecturer at the University of Paderborn. There he completed his habilitation in 1986 with the text The empirical research in business administration . In 1988 he then took on the chair for General Business Administration, Human Resources and Organization at the University of Bamberg. 1989–1991 he returned to the University of Mannheim to represent the chair for business administration, human resources and ergonomics. In 1991 the University of Lüneburg appointed him to the chair for business administration, in particular medium-sized business economics. From 1993 until his retirement in 2015 he was head of the (former) Institute for SME Research at the University of Lüneburg. He is the spokesman for the Empirical Organizational and Personnel Research working group.
