The Albert Southern Railway was a railway company in New Brunswick ( Canada ).

It was founded in 1878 by Gaius S. Turner and a few other investors to connect the town of Alma on Fundy Bay to the railway network. The train branched off in Harvey from the Harvey Branch Railroad and led through impassable area and on the last section steeply sloping to Alma. The locomotive arrived in 1888 and the first 16.9 kilometer section to West River was provisionally opened. At first only wood was removed. The remainder of the 26.1 kilometer long, standard-gauge line was not completed until mid-1891 . The grand opening took place on July 1, 1891. From this point on, passenger trains also drove over the route. The trains of the Albert Southern used the following railway line at least as far as Albert .

After the bridge over the Shepody River at Albert collapsed on June 29, 1894 , operations on the Harvey Branch Railroad were discontinued and the Albert Southern became an island operation with no track connection to other railways. In 1900 or 1901, traffic on the Harvey – Alma railway ended and was no longer profitable. The tracks were dismantled a few years later.
