Alberto Bensión

Alberto Bensión Salina (born April 26, 1940 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan politician .

Bensión is a member of the Partido Colorado and was deputy director of the OPP from March 1, 1972 to July 13, 1973 . He later accompanied Jorge Batlle Ibáñez ' candidacy in the 1989 elections as his advisor on economic issues. On March 1, 2000 he was then appointed Minister of Economy and Finance of Uruguay. He held this office until July 24, 2002, when he was replaced by his successor Alejandro Atchugarry .
