Alberto Marcos Rey (born February 15, 1974 in Camarma ) is a Spanish football player who has been under contract with SD Huesca in the Segunda División since summer 2010 .

Player career

The beginnings

Marcos began his career with the Spanish record champions Real Madrid, with whom he became Spanish champions in 1995. There he was never able to assert himself, so he left the club after only seven league appearances in the first two professional years to join Valladolid.

Real Valladolid

Alberto Marcos has played for Real Valladolid for 14 years . He holds several records in his team. He is Valladolid's player with the most appearances in official games (450), most league games (417) and most games in the Primera División (342). The experienced defender is also the team captain. With Valladolid Marcos played first class for nine years until relegation in 2003/2004. The relegation year was extremely unfortunate for his team, so that they were relegated as one of the teams with the most points as relegated since the existence of the Primera División. In the end, they failed in the long-distance duel to Espanyol Barcelona .

The last few years

After relegation, the club needed two years to consolidate before Marcos led his team to a sovereign promotion as captain in 2006/2007. After relegated from the Primera División at the end of the 2009/10 season , he left the club after 15 years and moved to SD Huesca in the Segunda División .
