Alberto Massimino

Alberto Massimino (* 1895 in Turin , † 1975 in Modena ) was an Italian automobile and engine designer.

Alberto Massimino studied mechanical engineering in Switzerland after the First World War . In 1924 he came to Fiat , where he succeeded Vittorio Jano , who had migrated to Alfa Romeo . After a short interlude at Alfa Romeo and the Stabilimenti Farina , the Turinese came to Scuderia Ferrari in 1939 . Initially, Massiminio was responsible for the maintenance of the racing cars and worked together with Gioacchino Colombo on the Alfetta . When Enzo Ferrari began manufacturing his own racing cars in 1938, Massimino constructed the first Ferrari racing car in history, the Type 815 , which was first used in the 1940 Mille Miglia .

After leaving Ferrari, he built important racing vehicles for Maserati such as the Maserati 4CLT and Maserati 250F, as well as the Maserati A6 , the company's first road sports car. Massimino returned to Ferrari in the 1950s and worked for Stanguellini , De Tomaso ( Tipo 801 ), Moretti and Scuderia Serenissima until his retirement .
