Alberto Pomeranz

Alberto Pomeranz (* in Rome ; † after 2000) was an Italian pianist, composer and music teacher.

Pomeranz graduated from the Accademia di Santa Cecilia and studied chamber music with Guido Agosti . In Venice he attended courses in modern Italian music with Gino Gorini . He represented Italy in the Beethoven interpretation competition organized by Wilhelm Kempff . He taught at Brooklyn College in New York for two years . For many years he was a professor at the Conservatorio di Musica "Ottorino Respighi". He was a soloist with the Orchestra Da Camera Di Roma and a member of the Trio of Siena and has given concerts all over Europe, Canada, the USA and Africa. He composed the music for Sergio Martino's film La bellissima estate and played the piano part in Gianfranco Mingozzi's film L'Appassionata . Under the composer's direction, he recorded Ennio Morricone's music for the film Nuevo Cinema Paradiso on the GMD Music label with an ensemble .
