Sergio Martino

Sergio Martino (born July 19, 1938 in Rome ) is an Italian film director and screenwriter who is best known for his Gialli , police and horror films of the Italian exploitation films of the 1970s.

Life

Martino is the nephew of the director Gennaro Righelli and the brother of the film producer Luciano Martino . Although he began studying geology, he soon turned to film and (after appearing as an actor in 1959) worked in various functions from 1962, such as assistant director to Mario Bava , production manager for Bruno Corbucci and organizer for several films that his brother produced. In 1969 he made his directorial debut with the Mondo film Mondo Sex . In the following years he continued with u. a.
