The white goddess of cannibals (original title: La montagna del dio cannibale ) is an Italian cannibal film that is close to the exploitation genre by Dania Film and Medusa Distribuzione by film director Sergio Martino from 1978.

The wealthy Susan Stevenson moves with her brother Arthur and a small rescue expedition under the direction of the local Dr. Edward Foster in the unexplored jungle of New Guinea to apparently search for her missing husband Henry, a renowned ethnologist . Foster suspects the missing person in the area around the holy mountain Ra Ra Me on the island of Roka not far from the mainland - but this region is closed to strangers without permission. The mountain is also said to be cursed. The expedition members, including a few local porters, secretly bypass this blockade with a helicopter and land near their destination. The rest of the way they manage on foot through the dense jungle.
Once on the island, the travelers encounter the hostile cannibal tribe of the Puca , who were considered extinct and who kill the native porters one after the other. It soon becomes apparent that the adventurers are pursuing purely private interests, even if they pretend to be looking for the missing Henry. Susan and Arthur hope to discover abundant uranium deposits while Foster is driven by thirst for revenge against the primitive Puca who once abused him. After another attack, the decimated group is joined by the virtuous doctor Manolo, who finally takes over the leadership after Foster's death and leads the remaining siblings to the mountain Ra Ra Me. When the siblings encounter rich uranium deposits, Manolo realizes that the siblings are only interested in the economic exploitation of the landscape. All of a sudden, however, the trio falls into the hands of the starved cannibal mountain people of the Puca. Arthur is killed on the spot while Susan and Manolo are captured.
In the camp of the primitive aborigines, Henry's mummified corpse is worshiped in a god-like manner due to an acoustic signal from the Geiger counter - Puca believe his heart is still beating. As Henry's wife - a joint photo was discovered earlier - Susan takes a similar position among the primitives, as the eponymous white goddess of cannibals, until the refined Susan and Manolo manage to escape at the end of the film.
