Giancarlo Ferrando

Giancarlo Ferrando (born November 4, 1939 in Rome ; † August 13, 2020 there ) was an Italian cameraman .

Life

Ferrando already had contact with the film business as a child; in 1948 he played a role in Alessandro Blasetti's Altri tempi . At the end of the 1950s he began working as a camera assistant to Augusto Tiezzi for feature films. From 1971 Ferrando was the head cameraman for numerous films, often for the productions of Luciano Martino, and until his death he was in demand and active in this role in around 110 films. In 1994 he staged the not often shown La ragazza di Cortina under the pseudonym Maurizio Vanni .

Occasionally, from the 1990s onwards, Ferrando also shot for television.
