occupation

Los buitres cavarán tu fosa is not listed in the German speaking spaghetti westerns of the late phase of the genre. The Italian title of the film (also meaning "The crows / vultures will dig your grave for you") is I corvi ti scaveranno la fossa .

action

Shortly after the end of the American Civil War, as the bandit activity became increasingly uncontrollable, the Wells Fargo transport company hired some pistoleros to protect itself against the increasing number of attacks. One of these men, Jeff Sullivan, is particularly keen as he hopes to track down the ruthless bandit Glenn Kovacks who barbarously murdered Sullivan's wife and his gang some time ago.

After Sullivan succeeds in freeing Kovack's stepbrother Dan, who was innocently imprisoned in the penal camp, he uses him as a means to get hold of Glenn. They are accompanied by the unscrupulous bounty hunter Pancho Corrales, who was also staying at Wells Fargo, and have to keep their pursuers at a distance and not lose track of Glenn.

When the confrontation finally takes place, it ends with the deaths of Pancho and Glenn and the destruction of the entire gang, while Jeff survives and is able to save the badly injured Dan.

criticism

“Crude, bloodthirsty, confused. More paella than spaghetti. "

Segnalazioni Cinematografiche 72 wrote: “The thin plot of this western is unnecessarily prolonged by a series of trivialities; the slow pace of the film doesn't make it easier to understand. "

Remarks

The sometimes encountered German title Jeff Sullivan - Perpendicular to Hell was intended for the publication, which then did not materialize.

The film was shot outside in Garraf and the two-week studio recordings in the Elios studios in Rome.
