Gianfranco Mingozzi

Gianfranco Mingozzi (born April 5, 1932 in Bologna , † October 7, 2009 in Rome ) was an Italian director .

Life

Mingozzi earned a law degree and worked as an animator for his hometown film club. He worked on Federico Fellini's La dolce vita as an assistant director and made a small appearance there as an actor after successfully completing his studies at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia . After completing a few short films, he was responsible for an episode of The Italian Woman and Love . After that he was involved in a number of feature films and documentaries. a. about Francesca Bertini and Michelangelo Antonioni as well as the transsexual artist Georgia O'Brien . His Nunsploitation film Castigata - The Chastened, caused a sensation . He later devoted himself to working for television.
