The Sparkasse Mittelholstein is a savings bank in Schleswig-Holstein. It has been a stock corporation registered in the Kiel Commercial Register since 1991 . The legal bases for the Sparkasse are essentially the Banking Act (KWG) and the Savings Bank Act for Schleswig-Holstein. The organs of the Sparkasse are the general meeting , the supervisory board and the management board .

history

The Sparkasse Mittelholstein was founded in Rendsburg in 1823 under the name Spar- und Leih-Kassel as a foundation savings bank . The foundation's capital was 1,500 marks courant . The founder was Johann Georg Röhling . In 1847 another predecessor institute was founded, the Spar- und Leihcasse in Nortorf . This merged in 1979 with the Verbandssparkasse Nortorf to form Sparkasse Nortorf . In 1862 the Hademarscher Spar- und Leihcasse - Verein , the third predecessor institution, was launched. This was converted into a stock corporation in 1899 and thus forms the origin of today's corporate form. In 1973 the Hademarscher Spar- und Leihcasse AG merged with the parish Spar- und Leihkasse zu Hanerau to form the Sparkasse Hanerau-Hademarschen AG . This was the first Sparkassen-Aktiengesellschaft in the Federal Republic of Germany.

The current institute was founded in 1991. In 2007 the public-law Sparkasse Büdelsdorf was taken over . The city of Büdelsdorf, as the sponsor of the former Sparkasse Büdelsdorf, received shares in Sparkasse Mittelholstein AG in return and has been involved in its share capital ever since.

On July 1, 2017, retroactive to January 1, 2017, the Sparkasse Mittelholstein merged with the Sparkasse Hennstedt-Wesselburen .
