The Union Health Insurance AG (UCT), headquartered in Saarbruecken is a private health insurer . The Bavarian Insurance Chamber (VKB) holds 90 percent of the shares in UKV through Consal Beteiligungsgesellschaft and the remaining 10 percent through Bayerische Beamtenkrankenkasse (BBKK).

At the end of 2019, UKV had 1.3 million customers. In addition to private full health insurance, UKV also offers supplementary health, travel health, long-term care and benefit insurance.

history

UKV was founded in 1979. In 2000, UKV and the Luxembourg insurer Le Foyer founded the joint health insurance company Le Foyer Santé in Luxembourg.
