history

The community savings bank Büdelsdorf was founded in 1919. This was generally welcomed by the local companies in a survey, but was also delayed by imponderables of a legal and economic nature. The unanimous decision to set up a community savings bank was made by the community council on November 22, 1919. Since the statutes and the establishment resolution did not initially find the approval of the district president, the assurance had to be added in the following period that the deposits of the savers would be guaranteed by an orderly municipal budget. This was achieved with the meeting on January 12, 1920. The community savings bank and the articles of association were confirmed by a decree on February 10, 1920. This cleared the way for business operations, which took place on May 1, 1920. When the municipality of Büdelsdorf was granted city rights as the sponsor of the Sparkasse, the part of the name "municipality" was dropped. The renaming of the community savings bank Büdelsdorf in Sparkasse Büdelsdorf took place on March 2, 2000.

Due to the small size of the Sparkasse Büdelsdorf, there were merger plans with the neighboring Sparkasse Mittelholstein AG. The merger of the two savings banks was completed in the third quarter of 2007.
