Alberto Quijano Guerrero (born November 24, 1919 in San Juan de Pasto , Nariño; † December 23, 1995 ibid) was a Colombian poet, historian, rector of the University of Nariño and president of the Nariñense Academy of History ( Academia Nariñense de Historia ).

In 1953 and 1954, during the reign of Gustavo Rojas Pinilla , Quijano Guerrero, along with intellectuals such as Ernesto Vela Angulo , published Amerindia magazine . In 1959 he published his poetic work "The Legend of the Lions" ( La leyenda de los leones ), dedicated to the city of San Juan de Pasto and personalities such as Agustin Agualongo . His best known work is Desde el sendero de las luciérnagas ; he also wrote the hymns of the city of San Juan de Pasto, the Colombian department of Nariño and the University of Nariño.
