Albrecht Balzer

Albrecht Balzer (born July 23, 1899 in Regensburg ; † May 12, 1980 ) was a German economist and economist.

Life

After attending the secondary school in Regensburg and participating as a volunteer in the First World War from 1917 to 1918, Albrecht Balzer went to study economics at the University of Munich from 1919 to 1921 . In 1919 he became a member of the Epp Freikorps . From 1921 he worked for various banks, insurance companies and associations, including at the Reichsstand des Deutschen Handwerks. From 1926 to 1931 he continued his studies part-time and passed the diploma exam in 1928. In 1931 he received his doctorate from the University of Erlangen for Dr. rer. nat. After the " seizure of power " by the National Socialists , Albrecht Balzer joined the NSDAP and the SS in 1933 (membership no. 102.874). From 1935 to 1939 he was managing director of the Reich Association of Private Health Insurance and the health insurance specialist group of the "Insurance" business group. He also became a board member of Treubau Aktiengesellschaft in 1934 and was also active as a consultant in the insurance sector in the Reichsstand des Deutschen Handwerks.

On April 20, 1939 Albrecht Balzer was appointed SS-Untersturmführer.

In 1940 he switched to the life and health insurance business group.

From 1950 to 1965 Albrecht Balzer worked for the management of the Association of Private Health Insurance in Cologne and in 1962 became the association director.
