Albrecht of Gemmingen

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Albrecht von Gemmingen (adult 1268/77; † before 1283) was an earlier common ancestor of the lines of the barons of Gemmingen that still exist today and owned in Gemmingen and Richen .

history

He was a son of Hans von Gemmingen, mentioned in 1259, and a lady from the von Helmstatt family . The father was the imperial bailiff in Sinsheim and is considered the oldest established ancestor of all members of the family who are still alive today. He had already achieved a certain wealth of property and power. When the inheritance was divided between Albrecht and his brothers Dieter (ext. 1274/83) and Schweiker († 1297), Albrecht was probably given the family seat (i.e. the middle castle ) in Gemmingen , connected to part of the village, ownership of Richen and slope in Bischofsheim . His brothers are considered to be the builders of their own castles in Gemmingen. In 1268 he gave Gülten and Zinsen to the Maulbronn Monastery in Gemmingen, with Schweiker, Dieter and Gerold von Gemmingen sealing with him. In 1277 he is mentioned as a witness in two documents. In 1283 he was already dead, as in that year a validation of the blessed knight Albrecht before his death was confirmed in a document.

family

He was married to a lady from the Neipperg family . Stocker doesn't know her name, Hueck calls her Gertrud.
