Alby is an underground station on the Stockholm Metro . It is located in the Alby district of the same name in the Botkyrka municipality . The station is served by the Röda linjen of the Stockholm metro system . It is one of the less frequented stations on the underground network. On a normal working day, 6,000 commuters get on and off here.

The station went into operation on January 12, 1975 when the section of Röda linjen between Fittja and Norsborg was inaugurated. The platforms are about 25 meters underground. The station is located between the Fittja and Hallunda stations . It is around 16 km to Stockholm Central Station .
