Alcester Railway

The Alcester Railway was a British railway company based in Warwickshire .

The company was founded on August 6, 1872 to build a 10, 5 kilometer long line from the Stratford-upon-Avon Railway in Bearley to the Evesham and Redditch Railway in Alcester .

The Alchester Railway was influenced by the Great Western Railway from the start . The GWR operated and maintained the railway line from its opening on September 4, 1876. From July 22, 1878, the Alcester Railway belonged to the GWR and the Stratford-upon-Avon Railway. On July 1, 1883, Great Western took over the remaining shares.
