Alci Sánchez

Alci Sánchez († June 19, 1998 in Caracas ) was a Venezuelan singer of Dominican origin.

Live and act

Sánchez came to Venezuela in 1947 and initially tried his hand at boxing. He then became a solo singer with Billo Frómetas Caracas Boys . In the programs Fiesta Fabulosa and A gozar muchachos from Radio Caracas he appeared with the Orquesta de Planta de la Emisora and the Caracas Boys. He made recordings with both ensembles, in 1948 or 1949 he made the record Canto Indio with the Caracas Boys, including Diógenes Silva's song Mayba .

He was later accompanied as a soloist by the ensembles Francisco Cristancho Camargos , Sancho Fernandez 'and others. With the group Sans Souci he recorded three LPs, on which he sang Placido Acevedos Bolero Boda Gris . In 1960 he played an LP with the orchestra of the Cuban Eduardo Cabrera on the Sonus label , and in the following year two more LPs with the orchestras of Porfi Jimenez and Pedro J. Belisario were produced on the Reina label .
