Alcmund von Derby also Alcmund von Lilleshall , other spellings Ealhmund , Alhmund and Alchmund († around 800) was the son of a king of Northumbria and became a martyr and saint .

Alcmund was the son of Ealchred the king of Northumbria who was deposed by the Witan and presumably fled to the Picts . After more than 20 years in exile in Pict, Alcmund led an army to Northumbria. He was killed around 800, for which Eardwulf was blamed. How exactly he is involved in this case has not yet been clarified. In any case, Alcmund was known as a martyr and venerated as a saint.

Alcmund was buried in Lilleshall, Shropshire , where miracles were reported on his grave. In the turmoil of the Danish Viking raids , his body was brought to Derby and several churches in the area were named after him.

His feast day is March 19th .
