Aldo Bassan

Aldo Bassan (also Aldo de Bassan ; born February 22, 1926 in Florence , † January 10, 1990 in Rome ) was an Italian documentary filmmaker .

Life

Bassan made numerous short and documentary films between 1951 and the mid-1980s . One of his best known is the film about the 1964 Olympic Games, I figli di Olimpi . In 1957 he directed his only feature film , Selvaggia, with amateur actors .

In 1983 he was awarded a Nastro d'Argento for the best short film for Terra amara .
