The Aleanca Demokratie ( Albanian for "Democratic Alliance"; acronym: AD ) is a liberal party in Albania . It came into being in October 1992 when the former party leader Neritan Ceka and others left the Partia Demokratike e Shqipërisë because they were dissatisfied with the authoritarian leadership style of the then President Sali Berisha .

After the 1997 elections, the AD joined the ruling coalition led by the Socialists after winning two seats in parliament. After the parliamentary elections in 2001, the AD received three seats and remained in the PS-led government.

In 2005 she was able to win three seats and was part of the opposition during this term of the Albanian parliament . In the 2009 elections, not least because of a change in the law to the detriment of small parties ( threshold clause ), it was no longer able to win seats.

In 2013 Eduard Abazi was elected to succeed the party chairman Neritan Ceka.
